Vicki Lynn (Gentry) Cooper, 47, of Humboldt, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at the St. Elizabeth’s Regional Medical Center in Lincoln. She was born June 19, 1966, in Humboldt, to Reams Jr. and Norma Jeanne (Hayward) Gentry.
Vicki was raised in Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1985.
After high school, Vicki married Randy Blecha. She worked at the Colonial Acres Nursing Home for 27 years. On Dec. 27, 2006, she married Marc Cooper in Las Vegas, NV. The couple resided in Humboldt and she also worked part-time for the R&D Grocery Store.
Vicki is survived by her husband, of Humboldt; sons, Dustin (Ashley) Blecha, of Fort Carson, CO, Damian (Elise) Cooper, of Fullerton, CA, Shaun (Courtney) Smith, of Columbus, and Robert Cooper, of David City; a daughter, Jesse Cooper, of David City; five grandchildren; sisters, Carol (Bill) Doner, Linda (Randall) Beckman, Diane (Doug) Harris, Karen (Jay) Layton, Paula Gentry, all of Lincoln, Gayle (Joseph) Shay, of Palmyra, Wilma (Don) Tyler, of Michigan; uncles, Glenn (June) Hayward, of Humboldt, and Dale (Janis) Hayward, of Lincoln; an aunt, Eunice (LeRoy) Kruger, of Holyoke, CO, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Gary.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 13, at The Christian Church in Humboldt, with Pastor Howard Blecha officiating. Visitation was Thursday at The Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt, where the family greeted friends in the evening. Interment was at the Humboldt Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Colonial Acres Nursing Home or to family’s choice.
