Elsie M. Barker, 103, of Shubert, passed away Friday, Aug. 30, at Careage Estates in Falls City.
The daughter of Edward M. Shubert and Lillie (Hall) Shubert, she was born Oct. 16, 1909 in Shubert. She married Jesse Barker Nov. 29, 1926 in Falls City.
Elsie was a lifetime member of the Shubert Christian Church, raised chickens, volunteered for the Red Cross Bloodmobile, enjoyed knitting and crochet. Elsie was a member of the McCandless Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Claude, and husband Jesse in 2006.
She is survived by daughter, Audrey (Betty) Curbow, of Vancouver, WA; son, Jeff (Mary) Barker, of Shubert; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be given to Shubert Christian Church or Falls City Sacred Heart Endowment.
A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the Shubert Christian Church in Shubert. Burial will follow at the Prairie Union Cemetery in rural Shubert. Visitation and rosary were Tuesday at the Hall Funeral Home in Falls City.
