Nina R. Sefried

Nina Marie Sefried, 103, of Falls City, passed away June 6, 2013 at Falls City. She was born July 22, 1909 to Loren R. and Hattie (Northrop) Whitney.

She married James A. Sefried and he passed away July 2, 1982.

She was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church at Falls City, a 50-year member of The Daughters of The American Revolution, past matron of The Order of The Eastern Star and past president of the Nebraska Federation of Women’s Clubs. She was active in the American Red Cross, Grey Ladies and a member of the Humane Society of Richardson County.

Mrs. Sefried is survived by her son, former Richardson County Board Chairman James R. Sefried, of Falls City; daughter, Beverly Kimmel of Falls City; grandsons, Douglas Sefried of Buffalo, NY, Bradley Sefried of Sanford, FL; great-granddaughters, Cynthia, Rachel, Sarah and Katie. She was preceded in death by her by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Lyle K. Schoen officiating.

Mrs. Sefried had great passion and love for animals and memorials should be made to the Humane Society of Richardson County.
