Albert Carl Ebel, 80, of Horton, KS, died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the Tri-County Manor in Horton.
He was born at Falls City on April 12, 1933, the son of Amos and Mary Caston Ebel. After graduating from high school and two years of college, he served with the U.S. Army. Al had lived in Reserve, KS, on a farm, where he helped his father before becoming a salesman for an air purifier company and traveled a lot with his job. He then became a carpet layer and worked in security.
On May 12, 1997, he married Dorothy Morgan in Falls City. She survives, of the home. Additional survivors include a son, Allan (Missy) Ebel, Quincy, IL, a daughter, Linda (Jerry) Rice, Hannibal, MO, two step-sons, Billy Teppert, Powell, WY, and Troy Teppert, Kingston, OK, a step-daughter, Annette Van Epps, Horton, and numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
Al’s step-granddaughter, Brandy (Kevin) Meers, St. Joseph, MO, helped care for him after his Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Marvin Dean Ebel.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton. Burial will be at a later date.
