Janice I. Avery, 68, of Rulo, passed away April 13, 2013 at Falls City. She was born Nov. 2, 1944, at Falls City to the late William “Bud” and Edna (Watts) Oldfield.
Janice was raised at Rulo and graduated from Reserve (KS) High School in 1963. She then went to IBM training in Omaha and worked for Rosen Novak for a year. She then moved back to Rulo in 1965 and worked at Camp Rulo cleaning. She then worked as a telemarketer for 10 years at Falls City. She retired to care for her mother full time.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church at Rulo.
Janice is survived by her son, Timothy, of Rulo; daughter, Shelly (Jeff) Harmon, of Murrieta, CA; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, George Oldfield.
A graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Rulo Cemetery, with Revs. Lyle Schoen and Paul Weinert officiating.
No viewing or visitation.
Dorr & Clark Funeral Home, Falls City, was in charge of arrangements.
