Marie C. Pupkes, 91, of Omaha, NE (formerly of Falls City, NE), passed away January 31, 2022 at Omaha. She was born April 16, 1930 at Falls City to Henry and Sophie (Schawang) Niemeyer.
She married Donald Prichard in 1949 and they were later divorced. She then married Ervin Pupkes on August 25, 1967 at Kansas City, MO. He passed away November 1, 2010.
Marie was raised at Falls City and graduated Falls City High School in 1947. She then attended Peru State Teachers College and then taught rural school near Rulo for two years. She then became a homemaker until taking employment with Falls City Nursing and Rehab, then Falls City Hospital and also worked for Drs. Farmer and Hines. In 1969 she became employed at First National Bank and eventually became the Vice President of the Accounting Department, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed gardening, wine making and supporting Sacred Hearth Athletics. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Sunshine Club and Legion of Mary.
Marie is survived by her children, Robert Prichard and his wife Janet of Pleasant Valley, MO, Thomas Prichard and his partner, Laura Chamberline of Olathe, KS, Paula Silverman and her husband Rick of Steamboat Springs, CO, William Prichard and his wife Patricia of Shelbyville, IL, Marta Sailors and her spouse Kim Pettegrew of Omaha, Dennis Prichard and his wife Pamela of Lincoln, NE, brother, Raymond Niemeyer and his wife Margaret of Falls City, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter in infancy, sisters, Margaret Huppert and Mildred Fischer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Rulo, NE with Father Lawrence Stoley as the presiding priest. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery.
A Parish Rosary will be recited on Friday at 5:30 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends following the rosary.
