Charles W. Herbster, Falls City, Nebraska resident, owner, and CEO of Conklin Company Inc, Carico Farms Inc., Herbster Angus Farms Inc., and North American Breeders Inc., gifted $50,000 to Community Medical Center Foundation to support the current renovation and expansion project.
Mr. Herbster stated, “I am dedicated and passionate about rural America, and I am invested in its future. The Community Medical Center is a premier rural health facility, and throughout the years, its first-class staff and facility has provided superb health services for my family. I am very grateful for the care we have received, and it is with great pleasure that I make this donation. I look forward to building a strong relationship with CMC in the years to come.”
Community Medical Center Foundation initiated a fundraising campaign in the fall of 2016 to assist with the $10 million expansion and renovation project of Community Medical Center. The project created a new primary care clinic added a second operating room and endoscopic suite in surgery, renovated clinic space for the orthopedic practice and visiting specialists and installed a new in-house MRI unit with the goal to someday be able to help with traumatic brain injuries.
Ryan Larsen, Administrator, remarked on the gift, “We gratefully accept this contribution, and we are deeply moved by the generosity shown by Mr. Herbster. Charles is an extremely accomplished citizen, and it is an honor to see his commitment to our community. His mother, Dorothy, was a respected leader for many years in our hospital, and I learned Charles was not only born in our original hospital but actually named after Dr. Charles L. Husted, the physician who helped establish the facility. This is a wonderful way to build upon that legacy and to help us continue the work of caring for those in need.”
