Beverly Ann Richey, 80, of Falls City, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Falls City. She was born on Sept. 4, 1935 at Hiawatha, KS, to the late Clyde and Dorothy (Gormley) Barnes.
On Nov. 24, 1954 she married Keith Richey at the Christian Church in Reserve, KS. He passed away on Nov. 18, 2006.
Beverly was raised east of Reserve and graduated from Reserve High School in 1952. When married, they lived in various locations in Nebraska and Iowa until making Falls City their home in 1952.
She worked at Falls City Care Center, Falls City Community Hospital and Southeast Community Head Start. She was employed at Nebraska Health and Human Services for 19 years before retiring in 1997. She was a dedicated and tireless advocate for disadvantaged children.
Beverly was a member of First Christian Church at Falls City.
She is survived by a daughter, Beth Anne (Paul) Yoesel, of Hiawatha; son, Kevin Richey, of Wahoo; many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Larry Dean Barnes.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Eternal Hope Worship Center in Hiawatha, with Pastor Richard Lehmkuhl officiating. Interment will be in Hiawatha Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, Falls City, is in charge of arrangements.
