J. ‘CHARLES’ ARNOLD

Julius “Charles” Arnold, 81, of Blair, died Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. He was born on a farm near Verdon to Walter H. and Goldie M. Arnold.

He graduated from Dawson High School in 1953. He was employed by Vicker Hydraulic Pump factory in Omaha before being drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served with the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii.

Julius was united in marriage to Wanda Clements on Feb. 1, 1959 in Muleshoe, TX after his discharge from the Army. He than began his college education. He worked as a teacher for three years before going into preaching. Following the death of his first wife, he was united in marriage to Barbara Stambaugh in Broken Arrow, OK, on Sept. 5, 1978.

In 1983, Julius and Barbara moved to Blair, where he served as the minister for the Church of Christ until he retired.

Julius is survived by his wife, Janice; children, DaOnda Elliott of Tahlequad, OK, Rodney Stambaugh, of Gardner, KS, Rex (Becca) Stonbaugh, of Blair, Charles D. (Laura) Arnold, of Searcy, AK, Stacy Stambaugh, of Omaha, and Andy (Regina) Arnold, of Sacramento, CA; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Clemente; daughter, Ginger Plants; brothers, Vernon, Vester, Edward, Virgil and Walter Jr.; and sisters, Violet Harring and Eva Lilly.
