JAMES F. ‘JIM’ HEINEMAN

Retired Falls City businessman James F. “Jim” Heineman, a financial advisor with Edward Jones Investments for nearly three decades, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2014 in Falls City. He was 73.

He was an active member of the community, serving six years – two as president – on the Community Hospital Board from 1987 through 1993. He also served on the Falls City Chamber of Commerce Board and was a past member of Falls City Country Club, Lions Club and Rotary. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the Falls City Elks Lodge #963.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Falls City, with Msgr. Robert A. Roh as the presiding priest. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Dorr & Clark Funeral Home, of Falls City. The family will receive friends following the Rosary.

Jim graduated from Verdon High School in 1959 and from the Lincoln School of Commerce in 1960 with a degree of Associate of Applied Science in Accounting. He became employed in September of 1962 at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as a Registered Sales Associate until 1980. In 1981 he began employment with Edward Jones. He retired in 2009.

He was born on Jan. 11, 1941 at Falls City to the late Keith and Josephine (Merritt) Heineman. On Oct. 13, 1961, he married Katherine J. Harmon at Seneca; they later divorced. He married Carol (Aerts) Davis on Dec. 29, 1984, at Falls City.

Jim is survived by his wife, Carol, of Falls City; sons, James K. Heineman, of Austin, TX, and Robert J. Heineman, of St. Joseph, MO; stepchildren, Danelle J. Homeyer, of Lincoln, and Darin C. (Mollie) Davis, of Falls City; sister, Peggy D. Smith, of Carleton, NE; sister-in-law, Dolores Heineman, of Lee’s Summit, MO; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother-in-law, Julia Aerts, of Falls City; brother-in-laws, David Aerts, of Kansas City, MO, and Dr. Richard (Linden) Aerts, of Cedar Rapids, IA; sister-in-law, Kathleen (John) Davis, of Tarkio, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Robert.
