Roger Lee Mandery

Roger Lee Mandery, 69, of Greenwood, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at his home in Greenwood. He was born June 23, 1944 in Omaha to Melvin and Emma (Cole) Mandery.

He attended Falls City grade school and high school. He married Patsy Portey on April 12, 1963 in Falls City. Roger worked 31 years as a drapery installer for JC Penney’s until his retirement. His hobbies included car shows, camping and going to Ashland high school sports.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy; son, Donald (Lynn) Mandery of Altus, OK, and Rhonda (Kenny) Ford of Ashland; grandchildren, Russell and Kendra Ford, of Ashland, John (Megan) Mandery, of Kearney and Donalyn (Jeremy) Diaz, of Oklahoma City; great grandchildren, Luke Mandery and Calvin Davis; brother, Ray (Nancy) Mandery, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; sister, Carol Cidlik, of Hawaii; brother-in-law, Dennis (Charlotte) Portey, of Omaha; sister-in-law, Betty Massey, of Falls City.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and one grandchild in infancy.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Ashland. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Marcy Mortuary Chapel in Ashland.
