A Rulo man pleaded not guilty to multiple charges in two separate cases last week at his arraignment hearing in Richardson County District Court.
Jeremy Kaster, 29 and originally from Tecumseh, plead not guilty to a felony charge of theft by unlawful taking – over $1,500 – stemming from an incident last February in which authorities allege Kaster stole property belonging to Kenneth Arnold, of Rulo.
Separately, Kaster was charged with burglary, theft by unlawful taking, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, possession of a controlled substance and theft by retaining stolen property, with the first four counts being felony charges and the last a misdemeanor.
Charges in the second case are alleged to have occurred between April 22 and April 24, when Kaster allegedly broke into a property near Barada and stole items belonging to Brandon Duerfeldt. Kaster was arrested on Richardson County felony arrest warrant on May 16 by the Kansas City, MO, Police Department. The warrant was issued after the alleged burglary in April.
Judge Daniel Bryan ordered Kaster to stand trial on February 12 in Richardson County District Court.
