The FC Volunteer Ambulance Squad recently announced they would have to start charging for lift assist calls

“The Falls City Volunteer Ambulance Squad has served our community for nearly 50 years as a stand alone entity. The operations of FCVAS are funded by revenues from transporting patients, with no funding from local or state governments. Currently, we only charge for ambulance calls that require transport. Unfortunately, due to the increase of operational costs such as fuel and supplies, we have ultimately made the decision to charge a fee of $75 for calls that require lift assist only, without transport. This change will go into effect on February 1st, 2024. We want to be fully transparent and let the public know that insurance companies will not pay this fee; it will be an out-of-pocket expense for the patient. FCVAS appreciates your understanding regarding this matter.”
