Norma Lea Hays, 89, of Verdon, passed away Nov. 13, 2013 at Auburn. She was born Oct. 13, 1924 at Pleasant Plains, AR, to the late James C. and Anna (Wilcox) Pearson.
On July 26, 1942 she married Kenneth B Hays at Huff, AR.
Norma Lea was raised in Arkansas and graduated from Floral High School at Floral, AR. She accepted Christ as her Savior at 11 years of age at Floral and was baptized in the Wagon Wheel Creek. She obtained her drivers license at the age of 55.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of Verdon; children, Brenda (Jim) Daniels, of Verdon, Linda (Robert) Russell, of Jenks, OK, Kenneth (Lisa) Hays, of Wichita, KS, Phyllis (Terry) Grove, of Plano, TX, Karen Dukes of Wichita, Gary (Paula) Hays, of Shubert; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Marlene Pearson, daughter-in-law, Betty Hays and a nephew, Lance Burress.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, with Rev. Ronald Russell officiating. Interment in Verdon Cemetery. The family received friends Friday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
