Falls City High’s state-qualifying duo of junior Krystal Samqua and sophomore Lainey Larsen finished in 62nd and 71st place, respectively, at last Friday’s Class C NSAA State Cross Country Championships in Kearney.
Larsen ran a time of 23 minutes, 5.7 seconds, while Samqua crossed in 23 minutes, 29.1 seconds.
Freshman Celeste Cardona of Mitchell was the Class C individual state champion with her time of 20:18.4 and Columbus Scotus took home the team championship with 45 points. Norfolk Catholic (60 points) and Wayne (63 points) rounded out the top three.
