Lady Tigers close out regular season tonight at Fairbury

Falls City High dropped both matches of a triangular last Tuesday in Johnson, losing to Wymore Southern in two sets 25-19 and 25-16. FC lost the second match in three sets to hosts Johnson-Brock, 25-14, 28-26 and 25-16.

Senior Madison Olberding totaled 10 kills and junior Maygan Ramsey combined for 10 blocks, including three solo stuffs, to lead the Lady Tigers. Junior Baylee Vrtiska led FC with 28 assists and finished 18-for-18 serving. Junior Chelsea Campbell (15-15) and freshmen Alyssa Frederick (11-11) also finished without a service error Tuesday.  Collectively, FC finished with only three service errors all night, converting 94-of-97 attempts.

FC (6-23) traveled to Fairbury (12-18) tonight for their final regular season match. Fairbury defeated FC in both of their previous matches this season.

Sub-district play is next Monday and Tuesday in Beatrice. Monday’s first round matches are FC versus Auburn (13-17) and Johnson-County Central (5-24) versus top-seeded Syracuse (25-3) at 8 p.m. Game times were not yet available, but will be posted on www.fcjournal.net when announced.
