Karolyn Kay Chadwell passed away June 23, 2024.
She was born May 12, 1941, the daughter of Herbert and Henrietta (Herbster) Witt. She graduated from Morrill High School class of 1959.
Karolyn married Bernard Chadwell September 18, 1960. They made their home on the farm west of Morrill, KS, where they farmed and raised livestock. She was a 4-H cooking leader for the Morrill Tip Top 4-H Club and served as the cooking superintendent for the Brown County 4-H Fair for many years. She also served on the Brown County 4-H Extension Board. Karolyn was a Sunday school teacher for many years and also was a cook at the Morrill School.
She is survived by her Husband Bernard of the home, sons Bradley Chadwell and wife Kim of Morrill, Kevin Chadwell and his wife Pam of Morrill, a daughter Lisa Uhri and her husband Mark of Dawson, NE, grandchildren: Brady Chadwell and wife Marcala of Morrill, Derek Chadwell of Morrill, Lindsey Chadwell of Hiawatha, Tyler Uhri of Dawson, NE and Jodie Uhri of Dawson, great-grandchildren: Brystol, Hope and Blair; a sister Irene Clossen of Sabetha, KS
Karolyn was preceded in death by a Daughter Ellen Renee Chadwell in infancy, her parents; a brother Stanley Witt, and brother in law Warren Clossen.
A Celebration of Karolyn’s Eternal Life is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha, with Shane Spangler officiating. Interment will follow at Morrill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Wednesday where the family will meet from 5 until 7:30 that evening to visit with friends.
