Eugene Errold Bucher

Eugene Errold Bucher, 85 years of age, went to heaven on June 21, 2023.  He passed peacefully with his family by his side at his home in rural DuBois, Nebraska. Eugene was born on March 12, 1938 to Errold Clarence and Ida (Wiltse) Bucher. Eugene spent his lifetime on the Bucher farm raising cattle, hogs and chickens. His favorite being the fattening of yearlings. The raising of crops was not his favorite. He always said “Once around the field is all that he needed to see.” Eugene attended Middleburg Country School through eighth grade and Honey Creek High School in Dawson Nebraska, graduating in 1955. He then went to Commercial Extension Business School in Omaha, receiving an accounting degree and returned to the family farm in 1957 to farm with his dad.

Eugene married Carol Schwab of Greenfield Iowa on September 7, 1958. Three children were born to this union, Lori Rambo (Jeff deceased in 2001) of San Antonio, Texas, Joni and Brad Fiscus, Brownsburg, Indiana and Jeff and Kacky Bucher of Hickman, Nebraska.  Eugene is also survived by grandchildren Bridget Bucher of Salt Lake City, Utah and Beau Bucher of Coronado, California and his sister Bernita Marmet of Sabetha, Kansas. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law.

Eugene has been the center of his family for 64 years and will be sorely missed. We realize that he has joined his parents in heaven and we will see him again in the future. He was very appreciative of the Asera Care Hospice team for their care.
