Janice Fischer, 82, of Auburn, NE (formerly of Dawson, NE), passed away October 17, 2022 at Auburn. She was born June 15, 1940 at Verdon, NE to Glenn and Laura (Fritz) Lundy.
She married Allen Fischer on October 19, 1958 at Verdon. He passed away January 23, 2006.
Janice was raised in the Verdon area and graduated from Verdon High School in 1958. When married the couple established their home in Dawson and five years later moved to the family farm. She was a homemaker and farm wife. She moved to Auburn in 2016. She enjoyed volunteering for many organizations, especially for her Auburn church and her former church, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Auburn.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Amy Harmon and her husband Matt of Dawson, daughter-in-law, Beth Rippe and her husband Loyal of Johnson, NE, brother, James Cockerham of Verdon, sister, Bernice Burget of Falls City. Four grandchildren, Keith (Marissa) Fischer of Johnson, Hannah Harmon of Kansas City, MO, Kayla (Nate) Neemann of Syracuse, NE, Rex Harmon of Dawson, two great-grandchildren, Natalee Neemann and Chase Fischer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, David, brother in infancy, Don and a granddaughter in infancy, Lacy April Rippe.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Ken Miller officiating. Interment will be in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
