Lillian Janet (Hill) Stevicks

Lillian Janet (Hill) Stevicks, 82, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on November 11, 1939 in Humboldt, Nebraska to Lyle and Doris Elaine (Parker) Hill.  She was raised in Humboldt with her family and received all of her schooling there.  Lillian graduated from Humboldt High School with the class of 1958.

On July 20, 1958, Lillian was united in marriage to Fred Stevicks at the Christian Church in Humboldt, Nebraska.  To this union, three children, Joni, Patti and Tom were born.  The couple raised their family in Humboldt where Lillian began working as a paraprofessional for Humboldt schools from 1969 to 1978.  She then took employment for the Humboldt Hospital from 1978 to 1998 before going back to work for Humboldt Schools from 1998 to 2003.  Lillian was a member of the Humboldt Christian Church and a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all that knew her.  Lillian passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the Falls City Care Center in Falls City, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of eighty-two years, eight months and two days.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, sisters: Carolyn Kistler, Marta Belisle and Roxanne Hill.

Lillian is survived by her loving daughters: Joni Bates and husband Wayne of Lincoln, NE; Patti Buechel and husband Tom of Lincoln, NE; son Tom Stevicks and wife Sarah of Lincoln, NE; 6 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister Lyla Rohlmeier and husband Gary of Piedmont, OK; a brother Lyle Hill and wife Debra of Yukon, OK; half-brother Gary Griffith of Breckenridge, TX; and many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Lillian’s Life will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022 in the basement of the Christian Church in Humboldt, Nebraska.

A register book will be available to sign from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022 at the Wherry Mortuary, 207 N. Nemaha Street in Humboldt.

Inurnment will be at the Mound (Prospect) Cemetery east of Humboldt privately at a later date.

Memorials contributions may be given to the family’s choice.
