PHYLLIS R. IDOL

Phyllis Rae Idol, 78, of Hiawatha, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. She remained in her home until the last week.

Phyllis was born March 24, 1936 in Rulo, the daughter of Ralph and Alida Goolsby.She graduated from Rulo High School in 1954 as Salutatorian. She married Harold K. Idol on April 18, 1957 in Falls City. He died Oct. 5, 2002.

Surviving family members include daughters, Gerri Rathke of Circleville, KS, and Susan Barnes, of Silver Lake, KS; sister, Carol Gentry, of Falls City; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister, Jo Vogt, of Falls City.

Phyllis worked at Hiawatha Hospital until she retired. 

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014. the funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 10, at Chapel Oaks in Hiawatha, with Rev. Randy Quinn officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Branch cemetery in White Cloud.
