Harlan Glathar

Harlan Eugene Glathar, 76, one of five children of Claude and Mildred (Schuetz) Glathar, was born June 29, 1945 in Auburn, Nebraska. Harlan grew up on a farm northeast of Humboldt and attended Pleasant View Methodist Church.  Harlan attended school at Stella and graduated from Stella High School in 1963.  He then went on to attend Peru State College, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in industrial arts.

On June 24, 1967, Harlan was united in marriage to Mary Catherine Frenzel at the Stella Community Church in Stella.  Three children would be born to this union:  Laura, Carla, and Ryan.

While in college, Harlan began working for Beall Construction.  After working for Beall/Southeast Construction, Harlan ventured out on his own and started Glathar Construction.  Harlan also worked numerous shutdowns at Cooper Nuclear throughout the years.  Harlan’s real enjoyment, however, came from raising cattle and farming the land that he and Mary purchased throughout their 54 years of marriage.

Harlan enjoyed visiting with neighbors and family over a cup of coffee anywhere, anytime.
