Annabelle Grady of Falls City passed away May 8, 2021 at Falls City. She was born October 20, 1932 to Jesse and Bell (Prater) Roberts in Rulo.
She married Charles Grady in Hiawatha, Kansas on August 10, 1950, he passed away February 10, 2002.
Annabelle grew up in Rulo, attending grades K-5 in Rulo, then grades 6-7 in Oregon and then back to Happy Hollow where she graduated from Rulo High in June of 1950.
When married the coupe established their home in Omaha, NE where two children were born to this union, Cheryl and Charles. They lived there until 1958 when they moved to Falls City. Annabelle worked at Whittens Market and the Falls City Creamery. Because Frontier Homes went on strike in1964 they took on different employment and moved the family to Papillion, NE where they lived until after the children graduated from high school.
Annabelle loved High School in Rulo and all the friends she made there. She loved telling stories of the free show nights there, the dances and the lasting bonds she had with her classmates. She and two of her classmates started the Rulo School Reunion many years ago.
Family came first to her as a wife and a mother. She loved to play board games with each and every one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She took great pride in teaching all of them how to play Rummikub and knowing that each family had their very own Rummikub game.
Annabelle is survived by, Daughter: Cheryl (Dennis) Hullman, Falls City, Brother: Cecil Roberts, Oregon, Missouri. Grandchildren: Ben (Racy) Hullman, Falls City. Jillian (Shawn) Holle, Otoe, NE, Lee (Laura) Hullman, Houston, TX, Emily (Andrew) Shelby, Omaha, NE, Brian Grady, Gretna, NE; five great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Charles 2013, brothers, William Roberts and Harvey Roberts and a sister Evely (Jim) Hodge.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. Steele Cemetery.
