Alice Eickhoff

Alice Eickhoff, 82, of Falls City, passed away Feb. 20, 2018 in Falls City. She was born Dec. 7, 1935 at Falls City to James “J.O.” and Eva (Strough) Richmond.

Alice was raised at Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School in 1954. Following high school, she worked for a lawyer and then as a bookkeeper at the Ford garage.

On May 13, 1956, Alice married Dearl Herman Eickhoff at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church six miles north. The couple established their home eight miles northeast of Falls City, where they lived for 49 years. Alice dedicated her life to raising her four children and assisting her husband with the farm following marriage. When her children were older she worked as a bookkeeper for Scholl Fertilizer until retiring in 1994.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church at Falls City and the Women’s Missionary League of her church. Alice enjoyed reading, counted cross stitch and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Alice is survived by her husband Dearl of Falls City; children, Martin and his wife Mary of Falls City, Darren and his wife Donna of Falls City, Danette Seelig and her husband Joe of Horseshoe Bay, TX, Sean and his wife Michelle of St. Louis, MO; brothers, James Richmond, Jr. of Kansas City, MO, Gary Richmond of Citrus Springs, FL, Dale Richmond and his wife Fran of Kansas City, Douglas and his wife Heather, of Kansas City; sister, Patricia Scheitel of Falls City; ten grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church with Reverend Daniel Gifford officiating. Inurnment will be in Silver Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 7-8:00 p.m. at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. The family prefers memorials be made to Christ Lutheran Church or St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church (six miles north) in lieu of flowers.
