Barbara Stitzer, 95, of Falls City, NE, passed away December 4, 2020 in Falls City. She was born October 18, 1925 at Los Angeles, CA to Raymond and Carmen Spurgin.
She married Wilbur Stitzer in 1948 at Falls City. He passed away November 4, 1988.
Barbara was raised in Dawson and graduated from Dawson High School in 1943. She then attended Peru State Teachers College and obtained an associate’s degree in business. She was employed as a teller at Richardson County Bank and following her marriage the couple established their home on a farm northeast of Falls City and then in 1955 moved south of Salem. She worked at the ASCS office, retiring in 1992 and working part-time for H & R Block and Brott Law Office during tax season. She enjoyed collecting blue moon and stars antique glassware. She was a member of Northridge Church, the Birthday Club and the morning coffee circle of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Barbara is survived by her son, Mark and his wife Roxann of Salem, NE, and their daughter, Brooke Adam and her husband Brian of Lincoln, NE and their daughters, Baylee and Brynlee, daughter-in-law, Zoe Almy of Denver and her daughters, Shaina Souza and her daughters, Laila and Emily of Loveland, CO and Kylie Stitzer of Littleton, CO, sister Aleda White and her husband Marvin of St. Joseph, MO, niece, Linda McCulloch and her husband Danny of Dyersburg, TN and a nephew, Dan White of St. Joseph. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son, Blake.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are; Charles and Dan Gruber, Brian Adam, Jerry Jeschke, Dan White and Danny McCulloch.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 2:30 PM at Steele Cemetery.
Open visitation and viewing will begin on Wednesday afternoon at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
