Violet D. Willits, 91, of Falls City, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Falls City. She was born at Clarks on Nov. 12, 1922 to LeRoy and Mabel (Branting) Church.
She married Louis Willits on March 1, 1942 at Polk, NE. He passed away Aug. 2, 1999.
Violet was raised at Clarks and graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1941. When married the couple established their home in Buffalo, NY. In 1946 they moved to Polk to farm and later moved to the Fullerton area for several years and farmed. They moved to Central City, where they lived until moving to Falls City in 1953. She was employed by Falls City Creamery, Sur-Gro Fertilizer, Johnson Insurance Agency and Hested’s Department Store for sixteen years. She retired in 1985.
Violet was a member of First United Methodist Church at Falls City.
She’s survived by son, LeRoy (Gloria) Willits, of San Antonio, TX; daughters, Cheryl “Tootie” (Larry) Ebel, of Falls City; Susie (Mark) Jones, of Rulo; sisters, Iola Moore, of Lake Havasu, AZ, and Nona (Vic) Hoffer, of Grand Island; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Morris Grady; husband; brothers, Cecil, Leonard, Wilbur and Russell Church
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2014 at First United Methodist Church with Lyle K. Schoen officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, Falls City.
