Marlin Peck

Marlin Glenn Peck was the first child born to Glenn and Leta (Schulenburg) Peck on March 18, 1934 in Morrill, Kansas. They later moved to the family farm south of Barada were Marlin grew up and became the fourth generation to live on the farm deemed Peckville and work the land. 

He met his future wife, Lois Kirkendall, in confirmation class at Saint Paul Lutheran Church. They married in 1956 and unto this union were born four children, Patrice, Anita, Lisa and Marlin Jr. (Marti). Lois passed away in 2002. Marlin would talk fondly of her to everyone who would listen referring to her always as “the love of my life”.

Marlin passed away on August 8, 2020 at the Falls City Care Center.

He was preceded in death by Lois, his parents and sister Janelle.

Marlin is survived by his four children, a brother Gary, extended family member Jussi of Finland, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, soon to be a 13th.  He was known as Grandpa Marlin to many people, but loved it most when his grand kids called him by this name.

As requested, his body was donated for medical research. A celebration of Marlin’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Indian Cave State Park where we can gather pawpaws or shake a tree in his memory.
