Ruby Brown

Ruby A. Brown, 88, of Salem, passed away June 11, 2019, in Falls City. She was born November 16, 1930, in Clinton, MO to Hiram and Dorothy (Runkles) Purcell.

Ruby was raised in St. Joseph. She married Harold Brown on June 16, 1950, in St. Joseph, MO. He passed away on August 9, 1995. When married the couple lived different places due to his work, settling in Salem in 1966. She then started working for Campbell Soup at Tecumseh, NE for nine years and then she became a homemaker and enjoyed to bake, sew and sing.

Ruby is survived by her daughters, Melissa Hall and her husband Mike of Fremont, NE, Kathy Olson of Humboldt, NE, sons, Harold Brown, Jr. of Salem, Tony and his wife Barb of Salem, Larry and his significant other, Lori Young of Salem, Billy and his wife Lynn of Salem, Rocky and his wife Candy of Falls City, sister, Connie Fattig of St. Joseph, twenty-one grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and three sisters.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019, at 1:30 PM at Maple Cemetery at Salem, NE with Pastor Dan Farley officiating.

No viewing or visitation at the funeral home, friends may sign the book during regular business hours.
