Robert Joseph (Bob) Humm, Tacoma, Washington, passed away at St. Joseph’s hospital in Tacoma Wednesday, May 1, 2019. He was born September 19, 1929, in Falls City to Robert (Pete) and Alma (Hey) Humm.
He was raised in Falls City as the oldest of thirteen children. Bob enlisted in the army in 1947 and served 22 years. He was united in marriage to Helga Winter in 1950. After her untimely death, he married June Randall in 1971. Following his retirement from the army, he worked in cable television for many years.
He was preceded in death by both his wives and parents, sisters Betty Whitten, Carol Marteny, and Sister Mary Alma. Brothers John, Richard, and Fred. He is survived by his son Lawrence of Gothenburg, Sweden, and daughters Lorrain Humm of Billings, Montana and Mary and (Tony) Descheenie of Page, Arizona; Sisters Katherine (Monte) Cox of Papillion, Margie (Larry) Cook of Plattsmouth, Mary (Leon) Wenz and Patricia (Francis) Simmons of Falls City. Brothers Jim of Dawson, Charlie of Rulo and grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He never lost his interest in the army and all things military. He enjoyed reading, gardening, and visiting friends and relatives in Falls City. There was a gathering at his home held on May 8, and a Military burial held on May 9 at Tahoma National Cemetery
