Sally Palmer, 75, of Falls City, passed away March 2, 2018 at the Falls City Healthcare Community after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born in Falls City on Dec. 2, 1942 to parents James “Red” and Matilda (Mackey) Lunsford.
Sally graduated from Falls City High School in 1961. In 1990 she married Brian Palmer formerly of Carson, IA and they resided in Falls City.
Sally was a life-long member of the First Christian Church at Falls City and was active in the bell and chime choir for several years and also traveled with the church Pastor, Richard Don and her daughter in 1995 on a visit to the Holy Land. She was employed for several years at Falls City Community Hospital, working in admissions and later at In Home Health Care.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Ray Kirkendall, infant daughter, Crystal Kirkendall, a son, Sid Kirkendall, brothers, Jackie, James “Jim” and his wife Lois, Jerry, sisters, Colleen “Cokie” and her husbands, Allen Donigan and Dan Clancey, Lauretta “Pete” Kentopp and her husband Warren, Ann Owen and her husband Gary, a brother-in-law, Francis Seid and grandchildren, Millie and Jed Findlay.
She is survived by her husband, Brian, daughter, Susan (Kirkendall) Findlay and her husband Jeff, their children, Elle, Jack and Hayden, sister, Beverly Seid, sister-in-law, Charlotte Lundsford, her husband’s son, Shane Palmer and his wife Stacy, daughter, Samantha, sister, Karen (Palmer) Dryer and her husband Ed, and daughter, Lanette and son Jason and a half brother, Tom Lunsford and his wife Mary.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 10:30 AM at First Christian Church with Pastor Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.
The family prefers memorials be made to Family Choice for later designation.
