Ernest W. “Bill” Gaede, Jr, 66, of Falls City, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born April 27, 1951 in Falls City, son of the late Ernest W. “Bill” Gaede, Sr. of Hiawatha, KS and Ramona Jeannine Shaffer (Vice) of Falls City.
Bill was a veteran of the US Navy in which he served after graduating high school in 1969. After being medically discharged, he lived in Falls City, but eventually moved to Humboldt, in 1981 where he raised his family. Bill worked for Senca until 1992, then Colonial Acres for a short time. However, due to his medical issues, he was unable to continue working.
In 2003, he moved back to Falls City, where he would reside until the time of his death. Bill was a member of the Christian Church in Falls City. He loved spending time with his boys, which included coaching their baseball team when they were younger and vacationing in Colorado. He was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan. When he was blessed with grandchildren, he enjoyed spending time with them.
He is survived by his sons, Stephen Kyle Gaede and Mark William Gaede, three loving grandchildren; Brock Anthony, Ava Lea and Raegan Maryann; his brother, Terry Gaede (Lisa) of Johnson, NE; his sister, Lyn Henry (Brian) of Shawnee, KS and nephews Braxton, Braeden and Camden Henry; and nephew Matt (Sara) Helms of Auburn; his step-mother, Barbara Gaede of Hiawatha, KS; his aunts, Sharon Mackey of Falls City, Adelia Simpson (Gary) of Falls City, Mildred Rhodd (Darrel) of Falls City, Anita Mackey of Omaha, and numerous cousins and their families.
Bill is preceded in death not only by his parents, but his sister Debbie Helms, and also by his son, Adam Patrick Gaede who passed away in 1993. His wishes were to be cremated and to have his ashes scattered at sea.
