ROBERT ‘BOB’ DAVIS

Charles ‘Bob’ Robert Davis, 91, of rural Stella, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015 at Auburn. He was born to Roy and Sarah (Hull) Davis on Jan. 22, 1924 in Nebraska City.

Bob grew up in the Julian, NE, area and attended country school near his home. He farmed with his father for many years in the Talmage, Stella and Auburn areas.
On Nov. 8, 1952, Bob was united in marriage to Rosalie Spicher at the Methodist Church in Falls City. They would be blessed with two daughters, Roberta and Ruth Ann.  In 1956 the couple moved to a farm near Stella to raise their daughters.

In 1951, Bob began a job driving a cream truck in Sabetha. In 1956 he returned to farming full-time, and continued to farm until retiring. He and Rosalie continued to live on their farm.

Bob was a member of the Auburn Eagles Aerie #3767 since 1981. He and Rosalie loved to dance, and Bob especially liked “Big Band” music. He also enjoyed going to the casinos to spend time and have fun with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalie, of rural Stella; daughters, Roberta (Greg) Lockard, of Stella, and Ruth Ann (Bill) Gutierrez, of Lincoln; grandchildren, Kim and Kyle Petsch, Karissa and Austin McDonald, Katina and Trent Farritor and Kurt Lockard; eight great-grandchildren (and one on the way); sister, Helen Norvell, and niece, Sharon (Dean) Bogle, all of Humboldt; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, LaVerne Norvell.

A funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015 at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn, with Rev. Ken Miller officiating. Casket bearers were Kurt Lockard, Kyle Petsch, Austin McDonald, Trent Farritor, Kasen Petsch, and Dylan McDonald. Kim Petsch, Karissa McDonald and Katina Farritor were honorary bearers. Burial was in Sheridan Cemetery near Auburn.
