David Wesley Duey, 89, of Silverdale, WA, passed away on Dec. 2, 2016 in Silverdale. He was born Jan. 22, 1927 in Chester, NE, to Clarence and Edna Duey.
On Nov. 4, 1950 he married Charlotte (Char) Jones. To this union, three children were born. Dave loved his family and everyone has fond memories of his fun loving personality and playing cards with him.
Dave was a WWII Army veteran, educator, coach and salesman. Most of his professional career was as a distributor for Kirby vacuums. He hired many, helping them get a solid start in life and develop leadership skills. He was a part of the Lions Club for many years and a past president. Dave loved sports, whether it was high school ball, the UW Huskies, or anything on television. He enjoyed pool and won many medals in the Bremerton Senior Games.
Survivors include his children, Dan (Michelle) Duey, of Anchorage, AK, Luci (Dave) Kegley, of Olympia, WA, and son-in-law, Doug Maier, of Silverdale; six grandsons; three great grandsons; and one great granddaughter.
Dave was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin, and eight of his 11 siblings.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016 at the Silverdale United Methodist Church, where he was an active member for over 50 years.
