JAMES DUANE HILLYARD

James Duane Hillyard, 73, of Montrose, CO, passed away at San Juan Living Center on Oct. 20, 2016. He was born in Kansas City, MO, to James Monroe Hillyard and Edna Pearl Barnette.
There he met the love of his life, Judith. They were married on Dec. 14, 1962, then they later moved to Denver, where he worked at Accutronics as a welder and retired in 2003. Then they moved to Montrose. Jim had a love for his pets, fishing, camping, hunting and riding his Goldwing. Jim enjoyed walking around the neighborhood getting to know all the neighbors. He was a big Denver Broncos fan and enjoyed watching or listening to the games. He is survived by his wife, Judith, of Montrose; daughter, Connie; two grandchildren; aunt, Connie (Hillyard) Shafer, of Auburn; and cousins, Steve, Rick, Tom and Mark Hillyard and Garland, Garth, and Gerry Shafer.
Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Grace Hillyard, of Shubert and his parents.
