DUANE OVERFIELD

Duane Joseph Overfield , 53, of Topeka, passed away March 31, 2016.  He was born Feb. 1, 1963 at Falls City, to the late Donald Jean and Josephine (Moorehead) Overfield.
He attended school in Falls City and later attended Hiawatha High School. He completed his GED in 1981.
He married Linda (Torrez) at Trinity United Methodist Church in Hiawatha, on May 8, 1981. Duane was a man of strength, the glue to his family. Many people gravitated to him because he was a down to earth and generous man. He was fun loving and always doing or saying things to make people laugh. He was a hardworking man who considered the people he worked with as family.
He worked for the City of Topeka, Water Department for 31 years. Duane was the Director of Meter Services. While living in Hiawatha, he worked for Wilde Tools and Flair Fold. Duane enjoyed playing pool, barbecuing, and playing with his grandkids.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his children: Lauri (Tom) Lemen, Tammy Torrez, and Brandi (Brad) Duchesneau; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;  siblings: Dale Overfield, Linda (James) Garrett, Rose (Ron) Hopkins, David (Mary) Overfield and Keith Overfield.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents and his baby brother Richard “Dickey”.
Services will be held Thursday, April 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Bible Church, 6800 SW 10th Street, Topeka, KS. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service.
