MARY CAMPBELL

Mary A. (Hale) Campbell, 91, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 at Falls City. She was born on Aug. 31, 1924, in De Kalb, MO, to the late Ernest and Elsie (Yocum) Hale.

Raised at St. Joseph, MO, she graduated from Benton High School in 1942. She then graduated from Platt Business School in St. Joseph. She worked for a lawyer and Park Bank in St. Joseph until moving to Falls City in 1955. Mary operated Katy’s Ready-to-Wear women’s clothing store in Falls City for many years prior to her retirement in 2010.

She married Kenneth E. Campbell on Oct. 15, 1943 at St. Joseph. The couple established their home in St. Joseph and moved to Falls City in 1955. Mr. Campbell passed away in February 2008.

Mary was a member of First United Presbyterian Church and was a Church Deacon, part of the church session, member of the Chamber of Commerce, Retail Merchants Association, hospital auxiliary, a Beta Sigma Phi charter member and the Grand Marshall of the Cobblestone Parade in 2010.

She is survived by her sons, Rodney (Debbie) Campbell, of Brooklyn Park, MN, and Rick Campbell, of McMinnville, OR; sister, Helen Eastbourn, of De Kalb; grandchildren, Jason (Ivy) Campbell, of Falls City, Shannon Campbell, of Las Vegas, Mic (Nikki) Campbell, of Brooklyn Park, Chrissy (Jason) Schoen, of Champlin, MN; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Keldon Campbell, Aurdrey and Collin Schoen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, two sisters, and a grandchild, Tara Konruff.

Services will be held at the First United Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, with Rev. George Cook, Rev. Carolynn Winters-Hazelton and Pastor John Hogue officiation.  Inurnment to follow at Steele Cemetery. The family will received friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
