Elmer J. Morehead, 91, of Falls City, (formerly of Rulo), passed away Friday, Jan. 22, 2016. He was born March 14, 1924 at Rulo to the late Marion W. Morehead Sr. and Elizabeth (Pettinger) Morehead.
Elmer was raised at Rulo and attended country school at the Red Brick School House. Following his schooling he started farming on the family farm and was a life-long farm hand, working for several area farmers until retiring in 2010. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Rulo
Elmer is survived by his sisters-in-law, Helen Morehead and Colleen Morehead, both of Falls City; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Josephine Beckner, Mary Morehead, Martha Diehm and Sister Laurita Morehead; brothers, Wilson, Lloyd, Edward, Joseph, Leo and Marion Morehead.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. David Oldham as the presiding priest. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the rosary.
