Ronald Eugene Niedfeldt, 58, of Beatrice, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016 in Beatrice. He was born in Falls City on March 19, 1957, the son of Harold and Joann (Krueger) Niedfeldt.
Ronald moved from Shubert to the Martin Luther Home in Beatrice in 1965. Later he resided in a community-based apartment. He participated at the state and international levels of the Special Olympics, competing in swimming, track and field, bowling and basketball. His special interests were the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Civil War history and NASCAR racing.
He was employed by Exmark at Beatrice for 28 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club, commemorating his 25 years of employment. He also worked at the learning center where his specialty was engraving.
Ronald was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church six miles north of Falls City
He is survived by his parents, of Falls City; sister, Rita (Scott) Kreifels, of Verdon; brother, Richard, of Shubert; niece, Kari Kreifels, of Kearney; nephews, Alan and Eric Kreifels, both of Falls City.
Ronald was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Ethel Krueger, and Albert, Sr. and Anna Niedfeldt.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, six miles north of Falls City, with Rev. Daniel Gifford officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home in Falls City.
