Robert “Doug” Booe, 58, of White Cloud died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, Dec. 12, 2015 at the Hiawatha Community Hospital. He was born in Hiawatha, Nov. 15, 1957 the son of Galen and Teresa Robidoux Booe.
Doug grew up and attended schools in Hiawatha eventually receiving his GED. He went to school in Beloit, KS and received his Heavy Equipment Operator License. Later he attended Vatterot and studied Heating and Air Conditioning. He more recently had worked at the White Cloud Casino as the Manager of the Maintenance Dept.
Doug was a member of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas & Nebraska. He served on the Tribal Color Guard and Pow Wow Committee. Doug also served in the Kansas Army National Guard. He enjoyed riding horses and was a member of the Butterfield Trail ride Association.
He is survived by his life companion; Kathy “Jingles” Mings of the home, four daughters, brothers; John (Jennifer) Kreitzer of Leavenworth, KS and Richard (Jill) Kreitzer of Kansas City, MO, sisters; Dorothy (Ace) Cheek of Hiawatha, and Nina (Ron) Merchant of Hiawatha, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Dan Kreitzer, infant brother; Theodore Booe, and sister; Mary Alice Cottam.
Funeral Services are planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015 at the George Ogden Building in White Cloud, KS. Interment will follow at the Tesson Cemetery.
Friends may call the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until 3:00 p.m. when we will move out to the George Ogden Building where the family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m., where a Drum Service will be performed followed by a Wake Service.
