Melba D. Rowell, 91, of Falls City, passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 at Falls City. She was born Nov. 23, 1924 at Barada to the late Joseph and Alice (Sailors) Ramer.
She was raised Barada and on Sept. 27, 1940 married Harold Rowell at Falls City (Mr. Rowell passed away on Nov. 1, 1996). The couple first established their home west of Barada, but moved into Falls City in 1955 and remained throughout their lives. Melba worked for the Creamery and the Garment Factory, both in Falls City, and the Mid-Central Egg Plant in Hiawatha, KS, from which she retired.
Melba was a member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley (James) Allgood, of Falls City; brothers, Gary Ramer, of Reserve, KS, and John Ramer, of Falls City; sister-in-law, Dolly Bridgmon, of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Todd Noll, Shane Alexander, Harold (Deb) Nussbaum and Vicki Rowland, all of Falls City; two great-grandchildren.
Melba was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers; two sisters; daughter, Lois Nussbaum; and her precious dog, Haley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, with Rev. Fay Ann Blaylock officiating.Interment will be in Harris Cemetery. Open visitation will begin Monday afternoon at the funeral home.
