RUTH M. MARRS

Ruth M. Marrs, 96, of Falls City, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015 at Falls City. She was born Jan. 22, 1919 at Barada to the late William and Ida (Hunker) Goldsberry.

On Nov. 27, 1937 she married Bill Marrs at Hiawatha, KS. He passed away Dec. 2, 1988.

Ruth was raised in Richardson County and graduated from FC High School in 1936. When married the couple established their home at Falls City. Ruth worked various secretarial jobs until becoming employed at James Oil Company as a bookkeeper until she retired in 1990. She was a member of First Brethren Church at Falls City and V.F.W. Auxiliary of Falls City.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Rick) Oberle, of Falls City, and Vicki (Mike) Furnas, of Lincoln; grandchildren, Sean (Heather) Stevens, of Omaha, and Heather (Shawn) Grebert, of Shenandoah, IA; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Richard Goldsberry; and a daughter in infancy, Shirley.

Her funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2015 at First Brethren Church with Rev. William G. Shipman officiating. Interment at Steele Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m. Sunday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
