GLADYS P. WEST

Gladys P. West, 108, passed away Monday, Sept. 8, 2015 at Tabithia’s Journey House in Lincoln. She was born June 19, 1907 in Norwood, MO, the daughter of James and Mary Ann (Binkley) Pruett.  
She married George Ball in Missouri, to this union one son Russel Ball was born.  Gladys married Walter B. West in 1945 in Reno, NV, to this union one daughter, Mary Ann Steinman was born. Walter passed away in 1961.  In 1962, Gladys moved from California to Stella, and then Falls City. In 1986, she moved back to California to help care for her son.  Gladys and Mary Ann moved to Lincoln to be close to family in 2011.  Gladys enjoyed crocheting, painting, gardening, and playing cards and board games with her family.  She was a hard worker and loved to travel. She enjoyed her trips to Lake Tahoe on her birthdays.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Steinman of Lincoln; six grandchildren: George Ball of Antioch, CA; Tony Ball of San Francisco, CA; Mitchell Ball, Gordon (Jennifer ) Ball and sons of Danville, CA; Greg (Didi) Stanley of Antioch, CA, and daughter of Cleveland, OH; and Scott Stanley and his wife Rae and daughters of Lincoln; eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; son, Russell; four sisters; and four brothers.
Services are 11:00am, Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Crossroads Church, 4401 N. 40th St., Lincoln, Nebraska, with Reverend David McGowan officiating.  Viewing will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday, Sept. 14, 2005 at Lincoln, Family Funeral Care, 5844 Fremont Street, Lincoln, NE.  Interment will be at Oak View Memorial Park in Antioch, CA.
