Edwin Veigel, 93, of Falls City, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Falls City. He was born July 31, 1921 at Falls City to the late John and Clara (Meyer) Veigel.
Mr. Veigel was raised on the farm northeast of Falls City & attended District 49 country school. Following his schooling he farmed with his father until entering Military Service. Following his discharge he returned to farming, and no Sept. 23, 1947 was married to Marcille Ernst at Zion United Church of Christ, northeast of Falls City. The couple established their home on the family farm. He retired in 1986.
Edwin was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, northeast of Falls City, the Men’s Brotherhood of the Church and also was a District 49 School Board member.
He is survived by his wife, Marcille Veigel, of Falls City; son, Merle (Sara) Veigel, of Falls City; daughters, Ellen (Jack) Focht, of Lincoln, and Charlotte (Lyle) Bachman, and Bonnie (John) Fauss, both of Tulsa, OK.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Marie A. Kentopp; and a grandson, Timothy Bachman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 at Dorr & Clark Funeral Home, Falls City, with Rev. Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Interment in Steele Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, April 9 at the funeral home.
