Our loving, caring, funny, earthly Angel passed away peacefully on Oct 16, 2014 in Plymouth, MN and joined the Legion of Heavenly Angels. Mary was born in St. Louis, MO, to Virgil and Lola Wiltse.
She graduated from Radnor High School in Wayne, PA, and graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a BS in Education. Mary married Peter Gilles in St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Falls City.
Mary taught in the Hazelwood School District in St. Louis and held several paid and unpaid positions in the Wayzata School District after moving to Minnesota.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Virgil and Lola Wiltse. She is survived by Peter, her husband of 47 years; daughters, Mary C. (Rob) Gilles-Schmidt, and granddaughters Kelcy and Kylie, of Germantown, WI; and Susan (Randy) Crowder, and granddaughters Callie and Laci, of Tomball, TX.
She will be dearly missed by her family for her humor, motherly guidance, and most of all for her love.
A private memorial service has been held with interment in the Columbarium at Wayzata Community Church, Wayzata, MN. Memorials may be sent to Wayzata Community Church, the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), or the donor’s choice.
