MARJORIE P. COCHRAN

Marjorie P. Cochran, 73, of Verdon, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014 at Lincoln. She was born Sept. 28, 1941 at Falls City to the late Albert and Emma (Johnson) Georges.  

On May 9, 1959 she married Norman Cochran at Falls City. He passed away June 4, 2012.

Marjorie was raised at Barada and graduated Shubert High School in 1958. She worked at Falls City Creamery following graduation.When married, the couple established their home in Barada and later moved to Falls City. In 1965 they moved into Verdon. She worked for Dawson-Verdon Schools for 30 years, starting as a cook and then a teachers aide and a librarian. She retired in 2002.

Marjorie was a member of Verdon Christian Church.

She is survived by sons, Norman (Linda) Cochran, of Verdon, Dan (Bert) Cochran of Bloomington, IL, and Gary (Tina) Cochran, of Verdon; a daughter, Jeannie (Ron) Rethman, of Verdon; brothers, Bob (Lana) Georges, of Falls City, and a sister, Emily (Pat) Kelly, of Falls City; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Lena Handley; brothers, Dale, Teddy and Joseph Georges.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014 at Dorr & Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Corey Miller officiating. Interment will be in Harris Cemetery at Barada. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
