Cheri Marie Bletscher, 60, of Rulo, passed away Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014 at Lincoln. She was born Nov. 29, 1953 at Falls City to Marge (Koelzer) Kopf and the late Leonard Kopf.
On June 30, 1973 she married her high school sweetheart, Doyle Bletscher, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Rulo.
Cheri was raised in rural Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School in 1972. When married the couple made their home in Rulo where she stayed home and raised her four children until going to Nursing School at Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville, MO. Following graduation she worked as a LPNC at Community Medical Center in Falls City for 16 years until retiring in 2013.
She loved to cook, watch football, work outside tending to her flowers, lawn and garden, cheer on her granddaughter Morgan’s sports teams and spend time at home with family. Most of all she loved being a grandma and spending as much time as possible with her granddaughters. Not only did she touch the lives of her family and friends, she also touched many others through her 16 years of nursing.
Cheri was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Doyle, of Rulo; children, Matt Bletscher, of Rulo, Lindsay (Jared) Brown, of Omaha, Brandy (Josh) Coulter, of Crete, Mitch (Kelly) Bletscher, of Falls City; mother, Marge Kopf, of Falls City; brothers, Tom (Cindy) Kopf, and Tony Kopf, both of Falls City; granddaughters, Morgan, Abby, Ava, Josie and Kyla.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Rulo, with Fr. David Oldham officiating. Interment will be in Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will meet with friends following the rosary, which will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Dorr & Clark Funeral Home in Falls City.
