DENNIS CARL ARNOLD

Dennis Carl Arnold, 69, of Beaver Lake, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue.

Dennis was born on Nov. 21, 1944 to Carl Otto and Alelia Amey (Hone) Arnold, in Richardson, NE. He was raised and schooled in Falls City, and graduated from Falls City High School with the Class of 1963. After graduating from high school, he attended and graduated from Milford Technical College in Milford, with an Associate’s Degree in Architectural Drafting. He met Ruth Ann Schaible and they later married on Sept. 2, 1967 in Falls City. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving his country for two years during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Alabama and then in Washington, D.C. at the Pentagon. After serving in the Army, he worked as a Project Manager & Estimator for Paxton and Verling Steel in Omaha. He continued working in the steel industry in Denver, and Sacramento, CA. In 1993, he returned to Paxton and Verling Steel until he retired in 2013. Dennis and Ruth moved to Beaver Lake in 2004 and have been there since.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Beaver Lake; three daughters, Jodeen Meyer, of Sunnyvale, CA, Laura (David) Clemens, of Lebanon, MO, Karen Fraser, of Beaver Lake; five grandchildren, Kayal Jones, Andre Jones, Tanner Roy, Jasmine Fraser, Shyla Clemens; one great granddaughter, Evangeline Hernandez; sisters, Linda Dovel and Dennis Crispin, of Humboldt, and Cheryl (Larry) West, of Falls City; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Alelia Arnold; sister, Alelia Umland; and two brothers, George Arnold and Charles Arnold.

A Celebration of Life for Dennis will be held from 5-8 p.m., with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6:30-8, Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014 at Roby Funeral Home in Plattsmouth. Online condolences may be left at robyfuneralhome.com
