New Dawson Museum a breath of fresh air

Museum opens doors a decade after DV closes.

    The Village of Dawson has seen its share of ups and downs. In the last few years, mostly downs.
    The Dawson-Verdon School closed its doors in 2004 after 78 years. With only 142 students in kindergarten through 12th grade, the school could no longer afford to operate. In the 15 years before that, the Dawson Café, Bank and other businesses were forced to close their doors, as did the Dawson Bethel United Methodist Church. It seemed that the small town of under 150 people was vanishing.

A new page will open and please fill out the necessary information in the ‘User Registration’ form below the heading, ‘New User Account With Membership Subscription.’ After you have completed the form, click ‘Register’ and you will be redirected to the Journal’s PayPal account where you can pay for your subscription. After payment is made you will be taken back to the home page where you can use your log-in name and password to begin using your subscription.
