Sixteen-year-old Sarah Norton of Falls City has been missing for around ten days. According to her mother, Veronica Hall, Norton was last seen on Saturday, June 28 at her home at 212 W 10th Street.

The girl was serving house arrest in connection with past occurrences of running away. She was wearing an ankle monitor, and Hall stated that she was usually notified if the monitor went off. However, shortly after Norton went missing, a neighbor found her ankle monitor hidden underneath a lawnmower in her lawn. She had apparently cut it off before likely fleeing Falls City. Norton did not show up at her court date concerning her probation last Wednesday.

According to her mother, Norton doesn’t have a car. It is possible that someone met her or picked her up. Hall said she has no idea where her daughter might be, or who she might be with, but believes she probably ran away. She also stated her daughter most likely fled home early Saturday morning.

For Hall, this has been a nightmare she wants to end. “I just want her to come home and I want her to be safe. I just want to know if she is safe,” she pleaded. Sarah Norton is 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs around 220 lbs. She has red hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information about her whereabouts should call the Falls City Police Department immediately at (402) 245-4422.
