Marvin E. Yoesel, 95, of Falls City, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 at Falls City. He was born May 2, 1919 at Rulo to the late William and Elizabeth (Gatz) Yoesel.
Marvin served in the U. S. Army from May 15, 1942 until being discharged Dec. 28, 1945. He was a member of the l08th General Hospital in France
On May 26, 1951 he married LaVerne Rumbaugh at St. Joseph, MO.
Marvin was raised in the Rulo area and graduated from Falls City High School in 1937. He farmed with his Father until he entered the service; following service he returned to farming. He farmed all his life and worked as an electrician for eleven years. He was a past member of Orient Lodge #13, Rulo and served as Past Mastor of Falls City Lodge #9, A.F. & A.M., a member of the York Rite and KYCH; past member of Rulo and Falls City Eastern Star and served as Worthy Patron. He is a member of the Northridge Church and previously had been a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church and served as Trustee, sang in the choir and was Treasurer for many years. He had also been a member of the Clefsmen.
Marvin is survived by his wife, LaVerne, of Falls City; daughter, Joyce (Ray) Scott, of Lincoln; granddaughters, Cindy Scott, Shelley Walters, Deb (Brian) Hunter, Kris (John) Strahm; great-grandchildren, Shane, Sutton, Shy Anne and Shelby Strahm, and Dillon Walters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.
The body of Mr. Yoesel has been donated to the Nebraska Anatomical Board, Creighton University School of Medicine. A Memorial Service will be held at the Northridge Church at a later date.
